New USDA "Food Plate"
« on: June 02, 2011, 03:08:22 PM »
The USDA have replaced the traditional "food pyramid" with the food plate....

What do you think? Are Americans going to finally fix up and look sharp?

In terms of trying to visualize the idea of "eat balanced" I'm OK with it. This is something knocked up for the average American. Meaning people who normally don't exert themselves intensely at all. Their nutritional requirements are extremely low compared to someone who is pushing themselves to failure day in and day out. Now if they could visually get across "don't eat a stupid amount in one sitting and "eat more than once a day" then it would be rockin'. Obviously something like this isn't cooked up with athletes and bodybuilders in mind.
