I saw a special where young Irishmen can't even remember the national anthem from the guinness.  and if you are that jacked up, how would you know if you were in liverpool looking over at dublin vs the other way around?

Bump, anyone know?

I believe they are just non-sense lyrics .. made up words to fill in the song .. I could be wrong .. if any Scot wants to "translate" them I'd be interested aswell .. but I'm pretty sure they don't "mean" anything

I'm Scottish and I don't have a clue what they mean, but then I don't know any Scots Gaelic and I don't know anyone who does. It does sound made up though as Scots Gaelic isn't written like that anyway - I know that much.

That at least it's not spelled "whiskey"

Scottish water is a big factor in Whisky, so while any produced elsewhere can be tasty, it's just not the same.

I understand most of the lyrics of this song, except this: A linten addie toorin addie, linten addie toorin ae
Linten lowrin lowrin lowrin,
the barnyards of Delgaty

WTF does that mean?

???

it roughly translates that americans are fat dumb asses with no awareness of other cultures

Thanks, that make sense.  I just assumed they meant something because so many other words in the song that sound made up mean something.

Thats exactly right. It's a phonic melody somethingorother.  Quite common in Irish and Scottish folk songs. Tedilum, dedilum etc.

Just like in England they sing la di da da in their feminine gay way.  ;D
