Not saying it's not hard. Just because a trainer is making an exercise hard doesn't mean it's effective. I'm all for running hills, we do it in intervals with a weight vest. But as I've said before, there HAS to be a progression in every routine and there has to be a reason behind EVERY exercise, why you picked that particular exercise selection and why it's programmed that way. I saw nothing in that video of a stopwatch, HR monitor or other wise. And again, no need to hit them during the exercise or lay on top after....thats what sparring is for. Chances are that wasn't they're only training session of the day. All that does it set the fighter up for over training that more than likely would result in an injury. When planning a fight schedule it has to be set up to help reduce injuries not create them (same with any sport).
Coach are you familiar with James Smith of elitefitness, "The Thinker"? He is on the Q and A staff. If so what are your thoughts on his methods? I dont follow football that much but I read his stuff now and then guy seems like he knows his stuff.
