ok fair enough. it may have not been addressed in the bible directly but the bible does say obey the laws of the land..you know it is against the law. bible aside i suppose your conscious should be your guide. for me i could never date 14yr old girl. after all what does a man in his 30's really have in common. we aren't talking about a 40yr old marrying a 20yr old. we are talking about a little girl. SO MORALLY I FEEL THAT ITS WRONG. what if it was your daughter?
Maybe he likes her hair and care free attitude.

I'll try to address each point in order. When making reference to the Bible, which I assume in this case is the "Render onto Ceasar...." what is wildly over looked is the context of the passage. Another is the "Eye for an eye...'" and the "Turn the other cheek..." passages and seemingly contradiction. But I don't need to argue Biblical passages to you as you live in the real world and surely you don't believe that just because something is the law of the land that it is right, moral and should be followed. There's a case right now where a man is being condemn to death for abandoning Islam for Christianity. And I don't need to remind anyone of the Jim Crow laws in this country.

And NEVER do I believe that one should just go by their conscious. A person's conscious, the self imposed standards for right and wrong and feelings of guilt, varies wildly from person to person. Even within the same person depending on circumstance. There are people that will saw off your head, cut out the fetus from a pregnant women, and the eat a fafalel  sandwich while discussing the latest soccer results. I don't trust human nature. I don't trust man's conscious. I don't trust myself. Even when you know what you are doing is wrong you can always find some way to justify to soothe your conscious. "He had it coming," is my personal favorite.

You could never do something like that. Fair enough. But this was no little girl. I hate when people throw around the term pedophile which is immoral and a sickness.

This was lowlife, unseemly behavior. But the government has no business locking people up -- Putting them behind bars, in a cage, because of behavior that they find distasteful. Not that distasteful behavior should never be illegal. If they were having sex in a church they should be locked up briefly like the animals they portrayed. Not for having sex but for having sex in public. In life, most every act in and of itself is morally neutral. It is always the context of that act which defines it's morality. Cutting open your chest can be a violent act or a subtle life saving procedure such as heart surgery. Sexual intercourse can be an act of love or a brutal violation. It is the context that defines morality.

As far as my daughter, I wouldn't want her to work at Hooters let alone be a stripper. But I wouldn't want to make it illegal. What I want for my daughter can be quite different than what society and the law condones. I would hope that I had raised my daughter with a value system such that she would not find herself in that position. And I certainly wouldn't want or allow my teen daughter being involved in the modeling profession let alone go to photo shoots unsupervised. I have a feeling that his particular girl was raised with more "progressive" attitudes and didn't have a father in her life or if she did it was a very weak and emasculated one. In other word, the typical father in Americana land.

You want to equate two selfish users having consensual to someone who kidnapped, raped and  murdered a seven year old girl?
