LSU will beat Bama.  I always thought that the top tier SEC teams are better than everyone else due in part to their strength and conditioning programs.

Best athletes in the SEC, but they have a bonehead coach, who will get out-coached again vs Bama.  If Bama drops one late, LSU will dismantle anyone in the country in the NC game.

If LSU happens to beat Bama, they will, as usual, drop a game against Arkansas.

One lost shouldn't stop them.

This is correct with team. Except for trauma injuries much of the success comes from S&C programs and how many injuries can be reduced from one season to another. The NFL lockout was a prime example. I don't have an exact number but from what I can remember, this is the most injuries I've seen in a long time.

Coach, I don't have the numbers, but it seems like fewer high profile injuries so far this year in the nfl. 7 weeks in, can't think of too many big names out for any extent of time

I agree with The Coach , it's time to wake up.

Football fans everywhere are preparing to settle in for the NFL's biggest and most electric weekend of the season—a four-game playoff marathon that will swallow up at least 12 hours of broadcast time over two days.

But here's something even dedicated students of the game may not fully appreciate: There's very little actual football in a football game.

According to a Wall Street Journal study of four recent broadcasts, and similar estimates by researchers, the average amount of time the ball is in play on the field during an NFL game is about 11 minutes.

In other words, if you tally up everything that happens between the time the ball is snapped and the play is whistled dead by the officials, there's barely enough time to prepare a hard-boiled egg. In fact, the average telecast devotes 56% more time to showing replays................. ......

and this is why it is so good.  Football is made for TV...in fact the players got a terrific deal during the union negotiations that are tied into TV deals. Pre=game and post-game shows take up the entire alloted time for an entire football game.  Shit, a Baylor and Kansas State college football game drew a lot more viewers than the Yankees and Tigers playoff baseball game.

Yeah that's why it sucks ... I've watched games and it's stop/start - absolutely no flow ... easily one of the most boring games every invented. I don't know how you americans get excited over it.

Agreed the big 3 are the most overvalued sports in the world. Basketball has no dynamic to it, just point after point after point, baseball is cool I respect the game, players, and talent, but it`s far to popular for a game with zero action. Football of course is shit, don`t get me wrong I like the sport in theory, but I prefer rugby, it`s an hours play versus 11 mintues, no stopping, no pads, and in my opinion more athletic players.

The big three favor freaks over talent, baseball is all roids and size, basketball all height, and football is all fast twitch with no endurance. Don`t get me wrong I don`t hate them, I just think there shitty as spectator sports compared to hockey, volleyball(with hot chicks) tennis, soccer and rugby.

Don't get me wrong - there are some nice plays but in general meh. Soccer is the same in my opinion. So many games that suck around the world yet have a popular following.

Meh the soccer comments were there just to piss you off, baseball is overrated or atleast to popular, basketball good to play, shit to watch, football would be much much much better if it had faster gameplay or atleast less stopping.
