Cain keeping it close!
« on: October 17, 2011, 08:40:47 AM »
The struggling one-time front-runner is now trailing President Barack Obama in a head-to-head matchup 49 percent to 35 percent.

Perry would fare worse than businessman Herman Cain, who in a poll last week trailed Obama 42 percent to 39 percent.

Herman Cain beats President Obama 43%-41% in latest poll
By Alison Gendar
DAILY NEWS WASHINGTON BUREAU
Monday, October 17th 2011, 1:06 PM

WASHINGTON - Rising Republican star Herman Cain is now more popular the President Obama, a new poll of likely voters found.

The plain-talking pitchman behind the "9-9-9" tax reform plan beats Obama 43% to 41% in the latest head-to-head matchup in Rasmussen Reports' latest national telephone survey.

"Cain now has the chance to make the case for why he should be the challenger to Mitt Romney," says Scott Rasmussen, president of Rasmussen Reports.

"Many others have auditioned for the role and fallen flat, and it remains to be seen whether Cain's fate will be similar."

Romney is also in a virtual dead-heat with Obama, the survey found.

Cain has been slowly gaining on the President in recent weeks, gainging traction for his plan to cap income and corporate taxes at 9% - and impose a national 9% sales tax.

Last week, Cain trailed Obama by three. The week before, he was behind by five, the Rasmussen survey showed.

Obama still leads among those under 40, while Cain has the edge among those over 40.

The GOP hopeful leads by 16 points among those over 65, the survey found.

The President's health care law has been very unpopular among those over 65. Most voters continue to favor its repeal, the survey noted.

Cain attracts only 72% of the Republican vote, while the President pulls in 82% support from voters in his party.

Cain, however, leads by 19 points among voters not affiliated with either major party.

Wasn't 240 a Cain supporter back when he didn't think he had a chance?  Now that he is a threat to Odrama, he no longer supports him?   :-\

I see you figured 240 out very well.   240 loves everyone until they are a threat to the messiah.   once they are a threat to the messiah, he turns on them.

I honestly think that he was the first person I saw mention Cain and it was always "he's the best candidate, but we all know he has no chance..."  So now that he actually does, is that the only thing that has changed or will 240 say that once he saw more of his platform, he would rather support Odrama.  Funny because I see NOTHING in what 240 thinks govt should be matching what Obama wants/stands for.....

I 10000% support cain over obama.  I'll put a cain sticker on my guitar, I will vote cain and flip off the camera with 333386 written on my hand and take a pic.

sweet jeebus, a guy can't post a poll without being called every name in the book?

thats the 240 I like to see, spazing around....  ;D   I just hadn't noticed you posting anything about Cain recently, but could have missed it, and thought it odd that the only time I see you mention him now was with this poll.  Glad to hear you are still on board.

i've liked cain for a while - i like him way more than the others.

IMO, you can post something that doesn't show your candidate as the second coming of Christ, without being an obama kneepadder.

I place FAR more trust in a person endorsing a candidate who says "yeah, my guy isn't perfect, but here's what he will do to fix things..."

That's way better than "My candidate is perfect, despite XYZ."  Or, even worse, what about YOUR candidate Obama?  he did this, this this...

It's pathetic.  I trust a person who says "so-and-so ain't perfect by far - but this is how I think he will improve america.".  POSITIVE.
