Sergio Martinez (48-2-2, 27 KO) says that Pacquiao's camp have now backed off of agreeing on a 150-pound catchweight, which in the past Bob Arum said he may be open to, after Martinez replied with a willingness to do just that. Now, Martinez says, Pacquiao's team wants him to weigh in at 147, and he cannot weigh more than 150 on fight night.
In other words, they don't want to fight Sergio Martinez. Period.
FMW
Promoter Lou DiBella spoke with the representatives of Floyd Mayweather Jr. (43-0, 26KOs), to see if there was any interest in fighting Sergio Martinez (48-2-2, 27KOs), the WBC's Diamond champion. Martinez would drop down to a reasonable catch-weight, like 154-155, to face Mayweather. DiBella has very close ties with Mayweather's business manager, Al Haymon, who also manages DiBella boxers Andre Berto and Jermain Taylor.</p><p>According to DiBella, Manny Pacquiao is the top priority for Mayweather. But, if Pacquiao is 100% off the table for Mayweather's return, scheduled for May 5th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Martinez would be considered.</p><p>"There was a very brief conversation with Mayweather's representatives where it became clear that in the eventuality that it's clear that there won't be a Pacquiao fight, and I don't think they've hit that point yet, that they would consider Sergio.
Ok, Arum won't take a fight with Berto or Ortiz, skipped on Martinez even at 150 which he has problems even making 160 and he is shorter than Margo. But they will take Marquez part IV in which FMW destroyed Marquez at 147. Yeah...we really won't to see that again.
If for some stupid reason FMW ends up taking a fight with Martinez 154 or so, is there any question that the BS is coming from Pac's camp?
It's all specs but by no means is Pac the best fighter in the world with the BS selection process by Arum.
