Several households on my street have pitbulls. All of them interact with children without incident. A couple of them even run around with small dogs and again...no incidents. They do require a lot of activity and are awesomely athletic. Both of mine jump over my 6 foot fence with no trouble whatsoever. My girl even likes to climb trees. I keep mine away from other dogs as they are dog-aggressive. I'm almost always fostering 1 or 2 other pitbulls that would otherwise be neglected and abused and help them find permanent homes. I built 2 large kennel cages. Taking care of all of them is a full time job.
Whenever you see a pitbull in the news(if it even is a pitbull, there are 22 breeds that are often mistaken as pitbulls), you'll notice a general trend of what their owners are like.
