sad stuff but the guy did go overboard, let the dog stay with a family member or friends temporarily while you find another place to live.

Sad and tragic really. Tugs at the heartstrings. For me that is the only drawback to owning dogs - I have two - the thought of losing them. Hell, I'm a full grown well rounded individual, happily married, house, good income, lots of gadgets and shit but I'd give up everything apart from my wife for my pooches. They on the other hand would probably give me up for a strip of jerky but that's life...

I've loved every pet I've had, and have been sad when they died, but I didn't kill myself over it.
