Fuck the Giants!  They always seem to get all the bounces and miracle catches in the big games.  Really Manningham?  Fucking fingernail catch while keeping your feet in bounds with two dudes draped all over you. I knew when Welker blew that catch, that we were in trouble.

This team was 6-6, down 12 against Dallas with a loss ELIMINATING THEM from even making the playoffs. They escape Dallas on a blocked FG. They got swept by the Redskins.

But, somehow they knock off the Jets and the Cowboys and win the NFC East at 9-7.....you know the rest.

Not really!! After that '99 season when the Jags lost to the Titans 3 times (the only team that beat them that year), the Jags were pretty much garbage after that.

No one should ever bet against the Giants again in the playoffs!

not tom fault. I lived in jax from 96 to 2005. The guy just needed a few yrs to recycle his guys (same as in NY)...they got spoiled in Jax with the instant success..to this day that fan base in north florida is SPOILED..they are mostly gator fans anyway and bulldog fans. Not a really solid fan base.

In the end Del Rio success was with coughlins players...when Del Rio guys rotated...we know the end result now.

Jax should have been patient with this guy IMO. It's obvious he knows what he's doing. Just have to give him time.

They played a bunch of stinkers during the regular season, but got healthy at the right time.   The 9-7 was a product of some poor play, but also injuries and an incredibly hard schedule.   And, some of the games they lost in that stretch (GB and SF) were games that either team could have won.

Either way, they did it AGAIN - crazy road playoff run, last minute drive.

And, they got a few lousy non calls and the hold was suspect.

You bring up a good point about the Green Bay game.  Prior to that game, I had no faith at all in this team.  But even though they lost, there was something I liked about the way they fought.  But then they squeaked by Dallas and got beat down by Washington in one of the single worst performances I saw all season.  I thought they could beat the listless Jets and then just prior to the Dallas game was when I had a dream about what the score would be in the 4th quarter (30-14), and when that happened, I was instantly bonded with this team.

Not gonna lie, though.  Prior to that late drop by Welker, I'd spent much of the game on edge and saw that drive as the potential backbreaker.  Eli is just flat out fucking money. :)

I lived in Jax from 2002 to 2005. I understand your situation. But when you go in the tank, the coach is going to get whacked. That's what happened to my team after this year, after dropping 10 straight.

Interesting  ::)

According to Justin Tuck, God actually put all the players on the Giants team.

Tom Coughlin is the man! everybody counted the giants off, talk shit about Eli Manning's ability as a quarterback.  And the giants made everyone eat their words.

Welcome to Metlife stadium, home to the superbowl champions New York Giants!

here is your answer:  the ugly German thought God cares about who wins a football game, so God probably made an example of the Pats.  Brady can thank her.

Gisele Bundchen Calls for Super Bowl Prayers for Tom Brady

Tom Brady may be the quarterback in the family, but his wife is the one throwing Hail Marys.
First reported in a New York Post exclusive,  supermodel Gisele Bundchen emailed  friends and family imploring them to pray hard for her husband to win Sunday's Super Bowl against the Giants.
"I feel Tommy really needs our prayer, our support and love at this time," Bundchen wrote in the message sent out to Brady-clan insiders.
"My sweet friends and family," the email began. "This Sunday will be a really important day in my husband's life. He and his team worked so hard to get to this point and now they need us more than ever to send them positive energy so they can fulfill their dream of winning this Super Bowl."

I agree that the Welker drop was huge.  But the Giants got robbed on the hold call.  ESPN even highlighted it and said it was wrong.  Replay showed no hold.  Also, there were two non-pass int calls.

I thought the game would be a war, and it was the first game where I could envision four possible scenarios:  Giants/Pats close game, Giants/Pats rout.   Really could see all happening.

As a Pats fan, I'd like to see Eli win 3 more SBowl's and shut up his attention whore brother. What an as$hole Peyton is for doing interviews about his injury during Superbowl week. Like he couldn't have waited until Tuesday to tell the world whats up with his injury.

Both teams have Christian players on them. I'm sure their respective wives and families were praying for their guys to get the victory.

Congrats Giants. You made more plays than the Pats and deserved the win. Props.
