Maybe all the stuff I saw while working as a Probation Officer.  Low pay, tough workload, and got to see some of the lowest of the low that weren't actually incarcerated.  I came to realize that the criminal justice system is nothing more than a manufacturing mill for others to make money.  Back in the day, towns and cities would beg off any state or county government that sought to build a prison or jail near them.....nowadays, they clamor for it.  The "police state" is already here.  Nowadays, I paint cars and repair dents.  Its not highly lucrative, but I make enough, and its an honest living and have never been happier.

Also I like to question stuff.  If I have an opposing view, I try to completely understand and rationalize that opposing view without putting emotion into it.  Definitely hard to do and something I've yet to master.

Any, 3333, I can really see where you are coming from.  Your perspective is insightful.

 If it does make you feel any better, this is starting to happen to me as well.  My neighbor is the only family on the block that receives full Section 8 Housing allowance(yes, it is at $2200 per month paid in full by Uncle Sam along with energy subsidies).  I live in a working class neighborhood(I refused to live in a gated community) where everyone on the street knows one another.  Their yard is the only one that is constantly unkempt, with their nasty garbage always finding its way into my yard along with the occasional dirty diaper.  If I go outside to the edge of my yard all I hear is  "n i g g a this and n i g g a that, homo this and homo that, muthafuckah this and mothafuckah that."  Theres a small child inside as well as an infant and they never get to go ANYWHERE like the park, beach, or swimming pool.

at the same time, you have teachers making 40k a year whose MAXIMUM salary for 30 years of service is what, 65,000? With a masters?


they want to unionize, and its the end of the world.... but when the wealthy unionize, it's a lobbying effort (and a successful one at that) to get the bush tax cuts extended.


So the rich won out, already.  We're still demonizing a bunch of teachers living check to check while Romney and friends are still hiding money offshore.

In NYS - public workers rin the roost.    Public workers here are worse than bernie madoff.

I dunno about that... public workers are making 40 or 50k.... they're paying high tax rates... they have no savings...

yet the very wealthy have their win (tax cuts among others, they pay much less in taxes... they have all the wealth.

Poor people do more work than Romney, they pay more taxes, they don't get to hide their money...

When rich people say "poor ppl get all the breaks" or "unions are ruining america", while paying so little in taxes WHILE exporting jobs overseas... i dunno dude...

I will tell you mine.   

I come from an Italo - American blue collar family.   I was the first one to college, and all of the men were all construction workers.   my family settled in Harlem and then the Bronx.  my dad started a construction company and was fortunate enough to move out of the Bronx to Yonkers, NY, the first city north of NYC.  bought a small house in a middle class nabe of all Jews, wops, and a few micks.  nothing special, but better than the tenements of Harlem and the Bronx.  This was the early 1980s. 

at some point in the 1980s the communist radical leftists decided that Yonkers was a racist city and decided to do what is known as "busing" and affordable housing.   The white kids going to neighborhood schools now were going to be forced to an hour a day on the bus and shipped off to ghetty square w the black kids.  the black kids were going to be shipped off to my nabe.   I was a kid at the time. 

This entire fiasco was being forced by a far leftist communist judge named Leonard Sands who was a rich Jew lawyer from Orange county.   The rat leftist traitor did not even live in Yonkers yet ruled over our city like a dictator.   

So, three blocks away from where my parents were able to build their dream, this rat judge decided was suitable for low income housing.  I was going to a good public school which was all Jew and Wop.   no more!!!  I had to be shipped off to the ghetto w the black kids because of this judge deciding the city was racist. 

So my folks took me out of public school and sent me to catholic school to avoid this mess, as did TONS of other white parents, mostly the Italian Americans.   The Jewish parents not able to afford Hebrew school or day school, were forced to ship their kids off to the other side of Yonkers.   over the years, my Jewish friends told me of the horrors they were subjected to by the thugs.  My closest Jewish friends parents sent him to catholic school since it was cheaper than day school, but far better than going to the ghetto.   

So this was my foundational moment in my lfe when my views were formed and shaped. 

From this moment at a young age seeing my family go from poverty to barely middle class as blue collar people only to have a leftist communist rat thug take it away from them and try to give away what they worked generations for to undeservining people for free is what made me a conservative/libertarian who would piss and shit on the grave of any liberal I could. 

So if any of you ever question my hatred for the left - there you go, now you know.

Basically, rather than to try and give the people in the bronx a better standard of living, he tried to expand the ghetto to Yonkers, is what it sounds like. He probably figured if he took the kids out of the ghetto they would do better. 

When cultures dont mix - they dont mix. People shouldnt try and force them to live together if they dont mix, if they did, it wo.uld happen naturally. To try and force them to live together is just going to create a laundry list of problems and violence, racial tension, hatred, etc.

There is a reason that people naturally live in communities with others of their same race - those that mix, do. Those that cant, dont. To force it unnaturally is stupid and only hurts everyone involved.

You want to laugh - the fight over yonkers in the early 80's is where Sharpton and a lot of the present day race hustlers and poverty pimps made their bones.   

When Sharpton was nearly killed in in Bensonhurst I really was not all too unhappy.   He then pulled the same bullshit with Jews in Pelham Parkway and 7 people died.
