« on: February 21, 2012, 10:44:43 PM »
Hi there guys, going to start my very first cycle soon. I was hoping to get lean before starting but i find it hard to lose weight because i have low testosterone and high estrogen. can someone suggest a method for me to lose weight first?

If you truly have a low testosterone condition, it's going to be very hard to lose fat; in-fact, it could be impossible unless you basically starve yourself.

Some people like to say you should be lean before you ever start supplementing with steroids; it is true, you shouldn't be obese. If you're obese, the blood pressure and cholesterol issues are more than likely be too hard to handle, but even then, if you're suffering from low testosterone, some form of TRT therapy at a low dose might be warranted.

If you're not obese but still carrying a little fat, there's nothing wrong with starting now...in-fact, in my opinion it doesn't make sense to wait. If you're going to use steroids but lose some fat first, well, this means you're going to lose muscle mass too and that makes no sense.

As for correcting a low testosterone condition, you have to supplement with testosterone...it's the only way you can remedy the problem.

Hey AJ,
would it make sense for him to try some AI first and lower his estrogen and see if that helps him first to get a bit more lean?and then start the cycle?

Maybe, and that would increase T levels too. Some doctors will use AI's and SERM for low test therapy, it can work but it's not always efficient.

Also, the guy never said what kind of shape he's actually in so that makes all this somewhat generalized.

AJ is right, my doc wanted to put me on a SERM (clomid) to "boost" my natural T, I told him I don't want to play around with trying things rather use a the tried and true so he put me on HRT. I'm not sure why docs bother with SERMS it's not all that natural for a male to be on that all the time anyway.

It's because most doctors are petrified of steroids....most of them are almost as uneducated on the topic as the general public...it's not a topic that's discussed in any great detail in med school.

When I got my TRT script I found this interesting. The doctor I've been seeing had a general practice for around twenty years, when his daughter got diabetes he told me he started looking into hormones more thoroughly, and in time he discovered everything he had learned over the last twenty years was a load of crap. He then went back to school after he'd already been practicing for twenty years and spent all of his focus on hormones and continues to study them today. His exact words "hormones are everything, they're the answer to most problems."

Sounds like a cool doc. I wouldn't be surprised if many of people's ailments were due to imbalances in their hormones.
