excess protein can cause kidney damage and renal failure
« on: February 21, 2012, 08:48:47 PM »
high amounts of protein will not cause kidney damage!  this is myth that everyone needs to know.  Protein is very good for the body.  There is a point where to much is no good.  no good as in no point.  excess protein = wasted protein.

for any average gym rat I recommend 200-250g minimum a day.  steroid user or not.

pros can do with more, maybe 400-500.  anything more than that is ridiculous.

you will not get kidney damage even if you had 1000 grams a day!

flushing out your kidneys is a good thing always though.  how do you do this?  WATER.  most bodybuilders don't drink enough water!

lipitor is a medication which is used to reduce cholesterol - when you are on this medication they check the amino acid indicators in the blood as the medication can cause breakdown of muscle tissue which can lead to renal failure - but hey the doctors don't know anything.

Excess protein is bad. That's why it is called excess. High protein diets (whether that means 200, 300, 400, or 500g) are fine, however.

Yeah, its called Advil, and other narcotics that attacked the kidneys and most likely contributed to central cell necrosis and the like.

What happened to Flex Wheeler, Don Long, Paul Grant and Ray Mentzer's kidneys? I don't think it was protein. If you want serious heart conditions in their 50's that would be a long list.
