Unfortunately, The Arnold many times didn't have
very good lighting for photos. The 2001 AC was one of them
and also the 1998 AC where Flex may have displayed his best
all time physique. The pictures don't look great from that year
but I have 2 videos from it and Flex is 230 and peeled. He also
hadn't started the retarded amount of site injections he started
in 1999. Some of the contest reviews from the 1998 Arnold stated
that particular Flex physique the best physique ever to be on a bodybuilding stage.
I believe Arnold said it too and he was there for the 1993 version.
There is a high level nationals amateur bodybuilder that posts here
that was at the show and can back up what I'm saying.
Too bad I can't remember his name... Rico or Gomez
Something like that but he's well respected around here.

I love how it is described as a "never before seen" picture...and it's a scan from a magazine that probably saw at least 300k eyes.

the first time it's been released is in the new issue of Flex, which nobody reads these days hence it's never been seen before

Really Great condition @ that show, 1998 O imo was a tad fuller with comparable conditioning although to be fair the lightning was better @ the 98 O, ether way when UNDER 250lbs Coleman from 1998 onwards was incredible.

the biggest issue I have with his 2001 AC shape was that he had a huge gut relative to 98 and 99.

eg. compare the lat spreads from the 2001 AC and the 99 olympia:

in 98 he was hard but a bit flat. looked much more impressive with more fullness as displayed in 99.

Coleman was fuller and bigger in 1999 however his Condition was not bang on like it was in 1998, good but not as good as 1998, that pic of him doing the lat-spread in 99 and a couple others from the mandatory's are the exception and of course in Screen caps he Appears more conditioned than 98.

they say what they have heard others say.

reviews of the olympia at the time stated he was bigger in equal condition from 98 to 99.

eg. ironman's review,

Peter McGough pointing out that ronnie's best olympia appearance was his 99 one (not his 98 one) in his online article of best ever mr O's etc etc

and then of course, there is the videos, screencaps and photos

i think the difference in 98 and 99 is obvious,98 he was a little more ripped and also had slight gyno in 99 a good bit bigger,still really good condition just not as ripped as 98 and got rid of the gyno.

his quads were insane in 99, huge, full and ripped with deep cuts. in 98 they were still lagging behind his upper body.

to me, thats the biggest difference that everyone overlooks.
