Anything under 315 is weak imo.

I bounce like hell of the sternum and arch my butt off the pad.  then I brag about how much i bench and if someone benches less with perfect form i call them weak.

i'd say that maybe 1% of the whole male population (ages18-40) could do that, and even if we talk about only fellas who train, then it's around 10% of the total training population

300 pounds paused at the chest is an OUTSTANDING press

Eh, I'm training a guy now for a meet, 100% lifetime natural, looks like absolute shit haha and he just paused 285 relatively easy (maybe 95%) at 178 BW and we're gonna have him open with 275 and then go to 300 at his meet. This fella has way below average genetics, looks nothing like a bber whatsoever, he's just been training for 10-12 years consistently.

178. Around 5'10 I'd say. Arms are average length, so not really efficient leverages either.

Good bench then for sure.

Yep, I generally never believe anyone is natural when they say it, either...but you'd believe if you saw him. ;)

I`ve seen some strong natty guys in my day,not big and shredded, but decent size and pretty damn strong for being all natural.

You tell them they could kick ass if they got on gear, but they never seem to want to hear it.................to each his own.

Yes, I wonder how far I can take it.
I don't push it though. I'm not about to get overdeveloped and look like some muscle queer. I concentrate on high reps.

What's the strongest you've seen you think was really natural? I've seen some competing in USAPL who claimed natural and were around 400 bench, 600 dead etc but I think at that level it's kinda could go either way. Really easy to pass off low doses as natural too...yet still get a huge fucking strength boost.

Hard to remember, but I believe it was around 365-370........guy weighed about 195 pounds or so.

Best non-natty bench I ever saw in person was 600-3 by Glen Chabot.........talked about him a bit last week.

Seen plenty of 400-500 benchers over the years.

I`ve personally done none of the above!  :(

benching your own bodyweight is ok

1.25 x your body weight is good

1.5 x your body weight is moving some impressive weight

1.75 x your body weight people will swear your on steroids

2 x your bodyweight is fucking impressive no matter how much or little you weigh

Guy on my softball team does 5 sets of 315 x 10.   It's insane how easy it is for him.

McRobert with the 315 statement.........does it apply to a guy who weighs 225 or a guy who weighs 165.........stupid generalization on his part.

I'm not sure what my 1 rep max is.  Now that I think about it, I haven't maxed out in about a year or so.

I currently Flat Bench about once per month and when I do, it is generally the first movement in my Chest workout.  I much prefer to start with an Incline movement though.

A typical flat bench workout for me now looks like this:

Warm up rotator cuffs first

135 x 10-20 reps for warm up

225 x 10

315 x 10

405 x 5-8 reps (depending on strength that day) then dropset to 315 for max reps, followed by a drop to 225 for max reps, and finally a drop to 135 for max reps.

Weight is 253 right now.

Seen 2 guys over the years go above 4 plates. One was totally juiced, the other I figured was a big fat liar. Lotta weight.

Anything over 200 is average. 250+ strong,

over 300 you get into strong as fuck or freaky strong.
