As a Catholic what has been committed and covered up in the Catholic Church is shameful and embarrasing.

I hope all who are responsible are brought to justice and all means taken to give the victims some sort of compensation/help

Catholicism is not bad - People in power is the problem. The abuse of power etc.

Thankfully much stricter controls are in place throughout the whole Church however we should never ignore or forget the abuse scandals that happened throughout the Catholic and other faiths. We muct learn from them.

It is alarming that those with pedo tendancies do gravitate towards jobs in schools, sports clubs and the religious orders in the past.

They do full psychological assessments now which continue and are on going throughout the 6 years preparation.
