I think steroids are a choice and if someone is an adult and is aware of the side effects and what not it is up to them to do with their body as they wish… but I also feel the same way about cigarettes, alcohol, and marijuana, and this is coming from a guy who doesn’t smoke, doesn’t drink (other than an occasional beer hear and there), and has never had a puff of weed in his life. But my feeling is what people do to their own bodies is their business. As long as what they do isn’t hurting others, then it’s not my place to judge them. What I’ve always tried to do is show people that if you don’t want to go the enhanced route, that there are plenty of options available to build a great physique and compete without drugs. I also think too many people turn to drugs too soon, I see people spend more time planning their cycles versus actually worrying about proper nutrition and periodizing their training. At the end of the day, what they do is their choice and the only time I’d have a problem with someone making a choice to go that route is if they try to compete in a drug-tested event while on steroids or other banned substances. This isn’t like other sports where many people are using drugs and there is no other alternative. You have a choice, you can compete in an untested organization or you can compete in a drug-tested organization.
So if you are willing to lie and take drugs to compete in a natural show, you truly are a piece of human garbage with no integrity."
