Blue Iguana Mexican Lounge/My room 2nd floor KING SIZE & Hot Tub :)

You could have least had your wife/gf pose on the bed for us.   ;)  Glad you did not take offense to my post. I will definitely check out that buffet next time in town. I had never ate there but had a friend say it was shit. They may have caught them on a bad day or he could be one of those people that are never happy just to try and get free dinners. Thanks for the info.

Yea! Circus Circus is now a dump but the Circus Circus Steak House is one of the best in town and a great place to take visiting guests if you blind-fold them before they enter the casino. But the restaurant interior is pretty damn nice.

A good number of years  back, Circus Circus used to be the place to go to! That's before the days when they lowered the casino ceiling which used to be over three stories high and when and where the circus acts were performed directly over the heads of the gamblers.

The big act I can recall was the trapeze act over the tables and the slot machines and the little elephant that used to roam around the casino floor looking for peanuts in your pockets.

In later visits you'll be able to get the Strip out of your system and stay at the local hotels such as The Silverton or the Orleans or the Palms. Although not as fancy these local hotels cater to the locals and offer better deals with a better chance to walk out with additional money in your pocket..

If and when you should ever stay Downtown .... check out the Gold Nugget where midweek rooms are sometimes offered at $45 per night ..... but do your best to avoid all LV hotels that add on Resort Fees - which are sometimes not disclosed until check out time.

For a different type of buffet ... consider the "M" and The Cosmopolitan. More expensive than the norm but pretty damn good for the price.

Im all set for the Luxor. Cost was a little steep but I assume thats because I'm not familiar with getting the best Vegas rates. Ive already checked out a cool deal where you can use the buffet for $32 all day there and at the Excalibur. I figure this way I can eat at nice places for dinner yet hit the buffet whenever I want a snack or breakfast. Is MGM and Luxor located in one of the nicer spots on the strip?

Yes they are located in a good area, and remember get the best room rate, BE FRIENDLY with the hotel staff and ask for a room with the nicest view/upgrade to a king size bed (since it isn't high season!!!).
Today's Vegas Buffets (especially the recommendations given in several comments) are actually BETTER than going out for a stand-alone dinner...

Exceptions are:  MUST TRY-  Heart Attack Grill, best damn burgers, and FRIES cooked in real lard like the 1950's....  see the video on YouTube

Make sure and take in the freebies as well. The lions at MGM, Bellagio fountains, Mirage volcanos, Treasure Island pirate show. Spend some time on Vegas.com and it gives you a ton of info. Also there is a free tram that runs between Mandaly Bay, Luxor, and Excalibur. If you or your girl wants to shop the shops at Planet Hollywood and Forum Shops at Ceasars are pretty good plus just north of MGM you have M&M store, Coca-Cola store and my favorite, the Addias store. The best pizza anywhere is called Grimaldis. The cook with coal. The pizza takes 4 minutes to cook. Grimaldis was founded in NYC in the early 1900's.
If you want to know any other info please feel free to IM me. I have been there a ton of times and have experienced the good and bad.

Absoluteley. Lawry's Prime Rib imo was just so-so for the price. Not much food for guys ours size. Margaritavile at Flamingo is not worth the money, MGM breakfast buffet is one to pass on, House of Blues- Mandalay bay= YUCK, I did not think and Spago was anything special. Besides that most places I have been to is pretty top notch. I do stay away from most buffets.
A bit of a hidden secret is Garudnos at the Palms. Fajitas at their finest!

And naturally you can't go to Vegas without hitting the In-N-Out off of Tropicana if you do not have them in your area like me.

GREAT info Bro, I have to write Garudnos at the Palms down for next time- I'm a CORN tortilla fanatic! Have you tried Pizza at New York Pizza (New York New York Hotel)???  I thought it was authentic, even BETTER than Brooklyn or Queens...

Yes, had their pizza but IMO nothing comes close to Grimaldi's. Even the pizza places in Chicago I have ate at. But Chicago pizza is a whole different type of pizza.
There is a chef at the fajita counter at Garudnos and you customize your fajitas anyway damn way you want. I have ate Mexiican food all over the US and nothing as good as this place? Oh yea, it is all you can eat dude, so go hungry. Also if you warn to see the UFC training center where they film the Ultimate Fighter PM me. It is less than a mile from the Palms. It"s location is a big secret.
