REPORT: Lead investigator wanted to arrest Zimmerman for shooting unarmed teen Trayvon Martin

SANFORD, Fla. - A lead investigator into the shooting of unarmed teenager Trayvon Martin wanted to charge neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman with manslaughter, according to a report from ABC News.

The news agency said they confirmed the information from 'multiple sources.'

The state attorney's office, headed by Norman Wolfinger, told investigator Chris Serino that there was not enough evidence to press charges.

Serino filed an affidavit on Feb. 26, the night Martin was shot and killed by Zimmerman, saying he did not believe Zimmerman's version of events.

The City of Sanford later issued an alert to "clarify a statement made related to the police report."

In part, the alert read "A reporter stated that based on the description of the incident on the report, that the officer on scene wished to have Mr. Zimmerman arrested and charged with the 'Uniform Crime Code' listed on the report.  That is not accurate.  All police reports from all law enforcement agencies require a 'Uniform Crime Code' to qualify an incident and for statistical purposes for tracking types of incidents. This code does not indicate a formal charge that will be lodged against an alleged offender. It is used for internal processing and to type cases.

Interesting, too bad Zimmermans version of what went down matches multiple eye witness accounts.  Trayvon attacked Zimmerman, threw him to the ground, slammed his head against the concrete and proceeded to beat him unprovoked.

The lead investigator had access to all of this information, and probably a lot more that hasn't been released.  His professional opinion was that the shoot wasn't legal.  However, there wasn't the evidencee... why?  We dunno.

Can we have a link to these eyewitness accounts?  Or is that a 'source' within the department (which suddenly looks like the shittiest department on earth) trying to leak shit to stop all the hate they're seeing?

Link to this evidence?  Or is this just a PD coevring their asses now?

This.
Its one thing to want to arrest someone because you dont believe them, thats why there is a followup INVESTIGATION. You know, to corroborate their story.

i heard they didn't test zimmer's blood.  or clothes.  they just let him go home.
Pics of split head?  pics of injuries?  i dunno.

there may have been evidence lost because dude got to go home.

they did, however, run a bunch of tests on treyvon's john doe body for 3 days until he was ID'd.   No drugs in his blood.  We dont know about zimmer, though.
