A flat tax makes so much sense but so many just don't understand.  They all cry about their deductions like they are getting over not realizing they would be paying less tax with a flat tax. For the majority the amount of tax paid would go down and yet more tax would end up with the government.

I think the way to sell the flat tax to the public is to have 4 major types of deductions so they still fell like they are paying less than the next guy. Stuff like mortgage interest deductions and dependants are two examples.

Just think the rich always have ways to not pay taxes with the incredible complicated tax code. Ever wonder why every big celebrity has a foundation charity.  They can declare themselves head of the charity and take a salary.  They can write off their own donations. What they give to an actual charitable cause is what ever they feel like from the foundation.  The charity is tax free. Just one of the monkey business ways of paying less taxes that a flat tax would get rid of.

Imagine not using an accountant to do your tax returns because it's on an index card size form? One line is for what you made and another for what you owe according to the percent that's standard for everyone. If you make 20K you pay this percent. I you  make 20k and ten bucks more you pay slightly more based on the percent. Imagine paying a flat 15% tax? Your pay check wouldn't be so slashed.

Many people have no idea how our taxation system works.  I've talked to people who vote democrat but aren't very interested in economics & economic politics and they have told me they think a flat tax is a good system.

I like the idea of a flat tax with minimal deductions or a two tiered tax system with minimal deductions (ie 10% & 20% federal tax + all other taxes).  Near 50% of people don't pay federal taxes because they use deductions, don't report income or qualify for exemptions.  We waste so much money on accountants.
When politicians argue about federal tax rates, many people realize we pay so much more in total taxation.  Our corporate tax rate is the highest in the world now, that needs to be reduced ASAP.

I'm in agreement probably we'll have to go to making our on wooden dumbells if he doesnt get in so we dont have to pay property taxes on them.

What if you drive to Canada or Mexico and construct a dumb-bell there and then drive back to America?
