According to Ian, that story was complete bollocks. He said Chris Lund got him and Nasser together for a photo shoot and Lund urged them to press the 200s. A couple of guys handed Nasser the weights and he struggled to do one. Then, when Ian's turn came up, the same two guys gave him a lift-off but screwed it up and damn near ripped off one of his shoulders.
AGAIN, according to Ian (as told to Trevor Smith), the 200s were not a problem for him at all, and he was royally pissed that Nasser ran around claiming he was stronger than Ian. It's too bad none of those Beyond Failure Training or whatever Trevor's stuff was called never came to light. Apart from Trevor and his big Smith machine lifts, a number of so-called people "in the know" at the time swore up and down that Ian was at least as strong as any pro competing.
