I'll bet the net effect to the Chicago economy was a minus. The presence of a POTUS causes large areas to be cordoned off so that there is no normal access to many places of business. In regard to this, Obama would just be better off keeping his mouth shut......but then again, I think that applies to most everything.

He stayed in a multimillion dollar house on Kailua beach during the Christmas holidays, twice, to help the economy.  And he even called troops sitting in a sandbox from his beach house to show what a great leader he is.
