“You could have a heart attack”, Jodie Marsh warned by doctor
We’ve all seen the incredible body transformation that Jodie Marsh has undergone since becoming serious about bodybuilding. However, the 33-year-old former glamour model could be putting her health at risk with her extreme diet and exercise regime. She has already admitted, “I feel like I’m dying. I’ve put my body through hell.” While a doctor has now warned that she could be at risk of heart attack. Dr Malcolm Vandenburg, a specialist in general and pharmaceutical medicine has told heat,
“Bodybuilding is extremely harmful to the body. To gain this much muscle on a small frame puts weight on the heart, which can lead to an attack.” Jodie fluctuates between a size 4 and an 8, as part of an extreme diet that she undergoes to compete in bodybuilding competitions. This involves eating not very much for 16 weeks before a competition, she then eats 24 eggs on the day and then binges on junk food after she competes.
This too could have some serious effects on her health, with fitness expert Melanie Hitchcock telling heat, “She seems to be starving herself before contests and binge-eating after, which could put her at risk of Irritable Bowel Syndrome and stomach ulcers. She looks like she dehydrates herself to show off her muscles, but this can cause kidney and heart damage. She could also be at risk of osteoporosis and infertility.”
