I don't think Alfred ever even sees the Catwoman character let alone links her romantically with Bruce, so why would he imagine her with Bruce in the cafe

I did the first time as well... Then when I went back and watched it in IMAX and paid more attention to other stuff, I changed my mind on it.

I got the same thing - he fixed the bat signal, got a clean slate, and took off with the woman.
As someone else said, why would Alfred put him and Selena together when he had never seen her or them together?

me too, but then i was thinking, wasnt bane killing the people by having them swim in ice? wouldnt that kill batman to when he jumped out the Bat 6? but then again he his batman full of battery powered thermal underwear , and then i thought, well surely 3 seconds left on the bomb wouldnt be enough time for him to bail out, but he might have had a bat boat waiting....

Yes THis, last time Alfred talked to Bruce, he fired his ass and they talked bout Miranda and how he would be good with her, Alfred never knew about catwoman, and in the final scene its clearly bruce and catwoman

Then there was a conversation between Alfred and Bruce and Alfred says "She sounds like your kind of woman" or something to that effect about her.

Also, Alfred DID see her because in the beginning Alfred told HER to take the tray of food upstairs, which is when she steals the necklace.

I doubt Alfred's dream for the person he cares about most in the world is for him to end up with a petty criminal who stole his murdered mother's jewels.  The "your kind of woman" thing was obviously tongue-in-cheek.

Even if all that is true there's still the Bat Symbol being fixed by some mysterious entity.  It clearly wasn't Gordon, so if Wayne is dead then who was it?

Why would they have made a point of him having fixed the autopilot 6 months before?
And why would he have lied to Gordon right before taking off with the reactor? ("No autopilot")?
