NASA: What level of stupid is this?
« on: August 05, 2012, 07:35:44 PM »
They spend 2.5 billion on this mission to mars that's success relies on a 10 year old malefuntioning communications satelite that "might work" and that would cost around 150 million to replace.  Shouldn't they have replaced the satelite before sending 2.5 billion in tax dollars flying off into space?

well part of it is:  :D  I would have imagined they should have made plans back then for a fully functional satelite since the do or die success of the mission relies on it.

"By November 2008 most hardware and software development was complete, but testing continued.[28] At this point, cost overruns were approximately $400 million"--wiki

Another example of Bush taking credit for something started on Clinton's watch.

I guess the 911s, he disowns, but the Mars landings, Bush wants credit there, huh?

He can also take credit for having a lower UE rate and better economy than at anytime since the Democrats took over both houses and the oval office.

Yeah, starting two quagmire wars was a great way to jumpstart the economy.

NASA didn't land that rover on Mars. Barack Obama did.
