that's one way of looking at it.
another way is that in the midst of a depression and 2 wars, an impotent obama has fended off an attack from an economic wizard and fresh faced likable veep...
He's incurred no damage. Spent a lot of money - but had brunted that initial attack when romney was fresh with a cool veep - Obama fended off an outstanding attack from a qualified alternative.
What else does romney have in the tank? what is "round 2"? we know his positions, we know his veep and it's tied. Jeb/Christie would be up by 7 points today in evry poll.
Fended off an attack? Carter had better numbers than Obama, at this point in 1980, and he got CREAMED.
Romney's got plenty left in the tank and it's the Obama camp that's sweating the fact that he's bleeding cash yet getting next to nothing for it. It's to the point where YOU keep floating (and hoping for) Hilary Clinton to try and save Obama's bacon by replacing Biden on the ticket.
Obama was supposed to be a lock, after killing Bin Laden. Romney was the Wall Street guy, and between the Wall Street demonization and the Occupy nuts, this should be a cakewalk.
Yet, Obama is struggling, no matter how much you spin it, 240. You don't outspend someone over 2-1, just to be tied, especially with the historical trend of undecided voters breaking for the challenger.
