I went into a coma when I was 4 and actually had to be revived on the way to the hospital due to spinal meningitis.  I distinctly remember getting a spinal tap a few days later even to this day 30+ years later.

Fuark man that sucks..

Mennigitis is horrible. A girl from my high school in my class, was so smart, beautiful, athletic and extremely nice was at University of Pennsylvania her freshman year and ended up getting it and died. This was by far the biggest waste of a life I have ever seen. I have seen many people die when they are young, but this girl was truly special. Really depressing to see her have her life cut so short when literally she could have dominated life.

If by issues you mean looking at oiled up half naked men in thongs, yes.

Shit, those thing hurt.

When I was bring investigated for MS, they performed a lumbar puncture on me twice. The first time a junior doc/med student asked to perform it under supervision so I was like 'yeah knock yourself out sweetheart' Tdidnt know what the fuck it was hahaha - needless to say after her 5th attempt at putting a 3mm needle into my spine I wished I'd protested.

They told me that I'd been through enough so a more experienced doc would be round in a couple of days to try again. I woke up 2 days later at 6am and there was a metal trolley next to my bed with all the shit layed out ready lol - 'nurse, can I please have some morphine, I'm in a lot of pain right now - no worries I'll get some for you' Worked a treat!!!

Shit putting anything near the spine is serious and should not be performed just to get experience from junior doctors.  You could have been paralysed if it hit the wrong nerve.  Asians are the experts when it comes to epidurals.  You don't hardly feel it when they do it and they get it on first attempt.
