The one-term president
« on: November 05, 2010, 08:49:06 AM »
President Obama has lost more than the midterm election. He has lost his moral and political legitimacy. On Tuesday, voters repudiated Mr. Obama's socialist policies. The Democrats lost the House of Representatives in a historic landslide.

The GOP picked up at least 60 seats. In the Senate, the Democratic majority has been substantially reduced. The liberal governing agenda is dead.

Mr. Obama misread his 2008 electoral mandate. The president embarked upon erecting a European entitlement state. Rather than fixing the economy, he chose the path of personal glory - and hubris: cementing his reputation as the most radical president in U.S. history.

1.  Not the best candidates in some races.

2.  This cycle was the hardest for the GOP to get since the least amount of dems in the Senate were up.  the next two cycles of senate seats will be easier for the GOP.

3.  Cali and CT were always going to be next to impossible due to the fact that these are FAR left states - just like if a dem tries to win in Texas or Oklahoma.

4.  Historical average is that only three net seats change hands as it is.

Senators have a 6 year term, so not all of them were up for reelection this week, just wait until 2012, as another 20 democrat senators will be be up for reelection, and we will see then who controls the Senate.

Almost everyone predicted that the Republicans would not win the Senate majority.

Having said that, only 36 seats were up for re-election in the Senate. The Republicans picked up 6 seats. Since 1950, there has only been 3 times that Senate pickups by either party exceeded 6 seats: 1958, 1986 and 1994.

Yes, it was a tsunami of epic proportions.

Ha,ha,ha 63 seats in the house and 6 in the senate and your questioning the magnitude of the victory and the total repudiation of Obamas policies?

*SCHADENFREUDE ALERT!* Daily/Kos SEIU poll gives Romney best numbers of the week (R-50, O-46)
No linky, linky because Daily Kos is not welcome here at FR | 10/16/12 | Daily Kos

Posted on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 8:48:33 AM by The G Man

This was a PPP poll for Kos/SEIU conducted 10/12-14 of likely voters (previous results in parenthesis):

The candidates for President are Democrat Barack Obama and Republican Mitt Romney. If the election was today, who would you vote for?

Obama 46 (47)
 Romney 50 (49)

At a time when other polls are moving back in the president's direction, our own weekly poll by Public Policy Polling saw the opposite—a two-point Romney gain. Per day:

Friday (38%) Obama 47, Romney 49
 Saturday (39%) Obama 49, Romney 47
 Sunday (24%) Obama 43, Romney 55

DDDUUUUHHHOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
