A Red Herring is a fallacy in which an irrelevant topic is presented in order to divert attention from the original issue. The basic idea is to "win" an argument by leading attention away from the argument and to another topic. This sort of "reasoning" has the following form:
Topic A is under discussion.
Topic B is introduced under the guise of being relevant to topic A (when topic B is actually not relevant to topic A).
Topic A is abandoned.
The topic was that you said people who voted for Obama were classless thugs... I presented evidence to counter that and ....well you chose to jump the track rather than admit you were wrong.. You really oughta work on that.
Not for nothing-- Your lists do prove 333's point to a large degree. I would also add to the list of wall street thugs and wealthy jews/ blacks, criminals, career politicians, crony capitalists, rappers and young stupid people: Snoop Dog, 50 Cent, T.I, Ricky Martin, Madonna, Ludacris Miley Cirus, Jon Corzine, Warren Buffet?
Policies aside, I would vote for someone besides Obama on the strength of that horrible list.
And another thing-- Wesley Clark is a failed Democratic nominee for president. He's a political hack-- not a member of the military as far as I'm concerned. And Powells Colin is a complete joke of a human being. Besides twiddling his thumbs for 4 days during desert storm while we blew up a few Tylenol factories, making a fool out of himself as Secretary of State and then promptly abandoning his party to jump ship for Obama-- why is he deserving of my respect and admiration? Besides not being particularly bright, the man left his uniform behind to become a political hack.
