its called responding to the issues as they arise.   the entire world community was behind the egyptian uprising against mubarak, as they were behind the libyan uprising against gaddafi.  now, after seeing how those revolutions turned out, the world is wiser and realizes that the uprisings have strong al-qaeda links and helping them overthrow the existing regimes would not result in the benevolent democracies we thought they would.. and so we ought to let them sort out their own issues.
