Cool, more morons ruining the republican party from ever getting young people to vote for them.

Seriously, chill on the jesus bullshit, stop worrying about gays, and stop thinking science is "bad" and then you might start winning elections. Is this so hard for them to figure out?

I know right, a lot of young people feel this way about the party. I tell you a big issue that could shift younger people towards the right will be internet privacy, at least in the next 10 years or so. Its already a big one for me but a lot of people don't know the extent of the tools the nsa have for mass surveillance, its quite alarming. Seems like no party is really addressing it that much and thats really unfortunate.

yeah, the recent things going on with internet privacy are alarming and no one seels to care; because no one wants it to become a hot button issue.

Also, the telecom companies trying to 'buy' and split up the 'internet real estate' is quite alarming.... never really followed up with where they were going with that, but if it passed, itd have been the death of the free internet as we know it.

Yes that's another huge issue, and if that happens the future could be very dark. I try to bring the issue of surveillance up with people and the response is always "If you've got nothing to hide then why do you care" or "you aren't important enough to be spied on". Well to the latter point - no shit, but seeing the expotential growth in technology just since 2000, can you imagine the tech they will have 25 - 50 years from now?

I've been involved in computers all my life and the tools and software the NSA have make my head spin. I mean I guessed that some kind of data collection was going on but I didnt realize how deep it goes. Wikileaks has a ton of very alarming things,  and wikipedia has a few of those on there. Having reading 1984 earlier this year.. and considering Obama has jailed more whistleblowers than any other president, Im getting pretty concerned.

Heres a link that describes some of the programs:http://www.dailydot.com/politics/nsa-spy-prgrams-prism-fairview-blarney/ And that's only the tip of the iceberg, think about the shit that we don't know. A good wiki article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NSA_ANT_catalog

You'd think the Conversative party would latch on to the topic since it threatens citizen's privacies but I don't hear many people talk about it.

Thing is, people dont care. They dont see in front of their faces, they dont respect their own privacy, and its only getting worse with each future generation, as they think its normal to put their entire fckn lives on social media, giving up their own privacy willingly.

Also, theyre losing respect for the ideals of the country and being brought up with no knowledge if the actual purpose of the founding documents and securing their freedoms and privacy.

Im starting to believe we deserve it. We have zero respect for our past and zero gratitude for what we enjoy on a daily basis, we take it for granted, we dont care, we hand it away willingly.

Every generation seems to get a little worse, and care a little less, all that matters is facebook, twitter, and xbox.

I know man. Its sad that I'm in the minority of today's generation, I dont know a single person my age that knows about this issue or cares much. Like you said its all about facebook and social media. Now I dont have a social media account, never had one, but don't you hate on video games!  ;D That being said parents use video games and electronics to not parent their kids, like letting them play outside or reading a damn book. I look around me and I see it everywhere, and I'm sure glad my parents were responsible enough to raise me right.

Yet somehow pollsters are predicting a huge win for republicans in the mid term elections tomorow.  Seems their crazy is well accepted among their followers.
