be on the table when interrogating suspects?

So its apparent that they do work even if at times they produce unreliable information. Some of the information that lead to the death of OBL was gained from "enhanced interrogation" techniques.

So the question is should it be an option when interrogating terrorist suspects?

A broader question being should the govt do everything to prevent the deaths of US citizens?

Absolutely not.  I think one of the great differences between us(the West) and them(Muslims, savages, communists) is that we, or at least should, never sink to their levels of barbarism.  It is still unproven whether a technique like waterboarding is actually effective........a man under great duress would likely tell you anything you'd like to know.

I think too many people have watched that Jack Bauer tv show.....with all the technological advances and access to various systems that we possess, I find it almost laughable that it would take torturing some poor raghead freedom fighter in a basement somewhere with a battery cable attached to his nuts in order to save American lives.

However, I do approve of unconventional methods in extracting information from terrorist suspects.....making them wear a pork necklace, forcing them to listen to Britney Speers, exposing them to the Getbig G&O forums, etc.

actually its not up for debate on whether these techniques work, they obviously do work. Now do they produce sometimes produce unreliable information due to the duress you spoke of Im sure that does happen but you cannot say we dont know if they work b/c we know they do.

LOL at the G&O comment.

  • Doesnt lie about lifting.
Give me the pitcher of water - I have no problem whatsoever with waterboarding.  Not even a drop (no pun intended).

Its not like they are doing permanent damage or breaking limbs.

I agree that "extreme" measures may get someone to confess to anything. Where I disagree is that techniques such as waterboarding reduce us to their level. I honestly fail to see a fair comparison, since even our "worst" methods pale in comparison to their more common treatment of our people.

I do like the idea of unconventional methods such as pork-interrogation, However, I suspect that it is THESE types of tactics that would be deemed even less appropriate by our PC government and brainwashed public, since we need to be sensitive to terrorists' feelings and faith...... ::)
