Donald Trump has responded to Bobby Jindal’s comments about the Republicans being the “party of stupid” by calling Jindal stupid. According to Trump, “you don’t use the word stupid because the word stupid is now going to be part of the vocabulary of the Democrats.” And the Democrats are already so far ahead in the vocabulary department!
The AR-15 assault rifle is the “musket of today” according to NRA President David Keene. That was the gun used in the Newtown massacre. I don’t recall many cases of the Founding Fathers using muskets to slaughter schoolchildren. For a lunatic to kill as many children as were killed in the Newtown massacre with a musket, they would have to pack about a pound of black gunpowder… and at least one meal, because this is going to take a while. And if the AR-15 is the musket of today, then the musket of 100 years from now will be a handheld laser death ray capable of wiping out all life on planet earth in a matter of seconds.
Keene says we shouldn’t punish 4 million AR-15 owners “because two or three people misused a firearm.” Oh! So now walking into an elementary school and slaughtering school kids is considered “misuse” of a firearm! Gee, if the killer had survived and been put on trial, do you think the charge against him would have been “misuse of a firearm”?
A Christian radio host claims that “the wombs of women on the pill” are “embedded” with “dead babies.” Radio host Kevin Swanson said “wombs of women who have been on the birth control pill effectively have become graveyards for lots and lots of little babies.” So ladies, stop using birth control… unless you want to have a haunted uterus. Why, even big strong men will be afraid to go near it after dark!
Eric Cantor is on a charm offensive, which is a little like Donald Trump being part of a brainstorming session. Today Cantor is delivering a speech that is being billed a major shift in tone for the Republican Party. Guys, you need more than a shift in tone. Your base needs a shift in skin tone... something a shade darker than lily white.
