when i do barbell curl i bend knees lightly to be really sturdy so that i can lock my upper arm in vertical position

and not allow elbow or shoulder to leave this vertical plane whatsoever

and then explode up with only the bicep, controlled down all the way straight and bam next one...

problem is

like this i can only use like 30kilogram barbell for decent sets of 8-12

is this bad for growth because too little tension?

have you ever tried superheavy bench press to your throat, which will break every limit to your progress

bench pressing to the throat is bad for the rotator cuff and has no benefits

if you go and watch all the top pros and huge pros of the years since the 80s, many of them dont use form like galeniko says you must use, thats because guys who weigh 280 or more, lift heavy ass weights and they dont lift themselves, the bad form and cheating is needed to get the heavy weight moved, that strict form shit is a myth, just get in there and go psycho on the weights and you will grow.

LOL.

You're the funniest troll on Getbig for some time :)

I say fuck barbell curls altogether.  I worked up to 155 for a few strict reps years ago.  My biceps didn't suffer but they do much better now with incline DB curls and a few exercises I've invented stolen from Youtubers.  I treat the biceps and brachialis almost separately, though I train both in the same workout.  I usually do one biceps-intensive movement for a max set a'la DC training.  After a bit of rest, I do the brac-intensive exercise, usually straight-setted for one max of 12-20 with a caveat:  if, for example, I do rope cable curls, I might fail at about the 12 rep mark, shake my hands out, then cheat as many as I can.

Think Big Ach doing rope cable curls :)  Those are my cheat reps.

After that, my biceps are smoked, so pumped that it's actually painful and feels like the skin about the muscle is going to rip.

Duh, duh, morrel ah de stoh'reh ist, ist jess ahpulz ahn ohrages, baybeh.

Ooops, channeling Ronnie for a sec there.  The long and short of it is, with some bodyparts, you really do need to "experiment" and find something you not only feel, but that you can progress on poundage-wise.  If that's some machine, so be it.  And if nothing else, prioritize hammer curl-type movements.

According to CT Fletcher, you need to verbally berate your biceps until they grow. You must COMMAND them.
