70's blaxploitation movie
« on: March 17, 2013, 08:08:29 AM »
I watched a bit of this movie last night, and I don't know the name. Two of the main characters were a guy named Goldie and the other, a guy named Foxy, who I have seen in some more mainstream movies. I'm guessing it was early 70's, everybody spoke like the two jive talkers from Airplane, and there was a cop and a roller rink. Pretty sure it took place in Chicago. Anyone know what this movie is called?

No, I've seen that. It's more obscure, not superfly or cleopatra Jackson.

JD's Revenge, about a 70's black nerd that gets possessed by a 1940's pimp who loves poontang, his conk, and revenge is a decent little one -

.

As is Cotton Comes to Harlem -

.

One of my favorites is Fight For Your Life , which blends prison, redneck, and blaxploitation films quite well -

.

That's EB Farnum in the lead role.

I honestly thought Jim Kelly would have had a bigger career , seriously.

yeah, I know..He did Three The Hard Way with Fred Williamson and I think Jim Brown,
And he co-starred with Pam Grier in Bucktown, USA.
But, think he could have had a bigger career in Kung Fu movies, that didnt play up the blaxploitation angle.

great acting, but what are they talking about though?

Is Kotto trying to stop Goldies endeavors or?

Is he stopping with giving him support?

IMO 3 of the best in that genre are hardly mentioned and starred lead actors who never really did similar films again (unlike Jim Brown, Fred Williamson, etc and other staples) were "Trouble Man," "Truck Turner," and "Cool Breeze." Blaxsploitation at it's finest.

the soundtracks were the best part. Marvin Gaye did the soundtrack for Trouble Man, and I forgot the name of the artist who did Cool Breeze.

And lets not forget the "eye candy"
