Sometimes I pick up the newspaper or turn on the radio and momentarily forget that what I'm reading/listening to isn't a comedy skit on a late night talk show.
The asinine comments made by politicians of all stripes constantly remind me that we are governed by morons. So what does that make us?
Every single news story has become a crisis of epic proportions complete with scores of starving children, women being raped and dismembered in public, round the clock school shootings every hour on the hour, apocalyptic doomsday scenarios with melting polar ice caps and rabid polar bears running amok through our cities and the rise of the contraception police-- a previously unknown secret society that has formed several well armed militias across the country for the express objective of violently suppressing sexually active women from their constitutional right to have protected sex with the partner, animal or inanimate object of their choosing.
Yes some of that was made up and/or embellished. But at first glance, you must admit that none of the above seems far fetched.
Today I'll start with two that are near and dear to my heart:

"Jesse Jackson Junior has not been treated fairly by the media. He did not receive a fair trial. It's the same right wing conspiracy that killed Jesus, started the Lewinsky scandal and illegally led the imperialistic trade embargo against Cuba."- Nancy Pelosi
