'DEEP THROAT' Star Harry Reems has died

Former porn actor HARRY REEMS, best known for his role in "Deep Throat," has died at the age of 65.

Reems died of pancreatic cancer at a VA hospital in his adopted home of Utah, according to pal Don Schenk.

Following his appearance in "Deep Throat," Reems was arrested in 1974 on conspiracy to distribute obscenity across state lines. He was convicted in April 1976 but it was overturned on appeal in 1977.



Born Herbert Streicher in Manhattan, Reems was originally cast as the coach in "Grease," but Paramount gave the role to Sid Caesar instead for fear Reems' reputation would hurt the film.

"I loved sex,' he once said. "I was very promiscuous. And I loved acting."

It's not great, but I think it should be seen once.

It is considered a classic.

The story is beyond silly. But it was meant to be funny and over the top.

But it's been calculated that even a cancer like this can develop for 20 years. Sad because it's shows how powerless we still are with these cancers.

Saw the original reel of Deepthroat, it was in the evidence room where I worked for 10 years in the Broward County Courthouse! It was evidence for the the obscentity trial held! Lots of interesting stuff in that room.
