Brutal embarrassing. Grown men hiking their (already-too-small) trunks into their ass cracks. Then wiggling.
Happy to hear they got booted.
Competitive bodybuilding has become so tired: a bunch of drug addicts prancing and preening. When I competed I guess I didn't see it for what it truly is. Fifteen years removed, it all appears so embarrassing.
I hear ya and I competed a bunch of times from 1978-'95. I even judged for many years. Looking at bodybuilding contests from "the outside" can seem odd, but it was never meant to be a mainstream sport.
Just remember a couple things and then sit back and have fun with it:
1. Bodybuilding ALWAYS had extreme drug use, behind the scenes g4p and some goofy posing on stage, etc.
2. The contest "rules" are based more on accepted norms determined by the current culture and attitude within the sport.
For example, despite what the official, written rules say; extreme drug use and freaks are rewarded in BB and thong bottoms with sticking your ass out, are required to do well in bikini.
I stopped judging when MPD became a big contest division 2-3 yrs ago. I now enjoy BB for what it is and have FUN in the gym and still enjoy going to a few contests and expos each year. If you don't compete, you don't have to worry about taking it as serious and just enjoy it , for what it is.
