I gotta guy trying to unload an 04 deville with 62k, and 01 and 00 dts with 85k or so, and 03 dhs with 96k.
I've never had a caddy, but these are cheap and big... I just don't like the 'bench seats' in the regular deville.. the dts has regular buckets with a center console.
I figure it's an American car, and it's gotta be cheaper to repair than the german sedan i'm driving now.
at what mileage did things start to 'break' and fall apart... waterpump, cats', ect...??
what years are worse than others?
i'm tempted... since at the same price he wants for these, id pick up another ls430 with 100k miles +
Cadillacs up to about 2008 are shit cars. Problems? Peeling paint, blown head gaskets, defective power windows, defective radios, door leaks, fuel pumps that rust out, etc., etc. An LS430 is a far, far better car, even with 100K miles. Even factoring in the higher repair costs, because you will need far fewer repairs, if any.
But an LS430 is Japanese. What make is your German sedan? If it's BMW or Mercedes, they too are far more reliable than the Caddies you mention. If it's Audi or Volkswagen, not so.
Caddies back then were victims of poor quality control and going with the lowest cost supplier. Later on, GM learned its lesson.
