Yup - decided to stay in today!

You couldn't make the shit up that goes on here. Some Billionaire PM tried to destroy the checks & balances of government. He changed a law one day and used that new law to sell his billion dollar telecom company the next.

He paid ZERO tax on the profits of that sale - nothing, nada.

He ended up doing a runner after getting convicted for 2 years - his lawyer did 6 months inside for trying to give the judges a sandwich box full of money.

So now he sits - a convicted billionaire criminal in self-impose exile, actually running the country where his sister is PM. Sounds like something out of a Bond movie.

Since she became PM, corruption has gone off the scale and they implemented some of the dumbest populist policies known to man (well, at least unless the real intention was to syphon off billions of dollars).

Now they want to borrow 2 trillion Baht for projects that are losely described on just 4 pieces of paper. That will take Thai tax payers 50 years to pay off.

Get them out I say!

They need new leadership, clearly.   Obama will be available in 2016.

HOLY SHIT :D

Sounds bad right?

The same guy got over 2000 "drug dealers" executed without judgement just a year before that.

His wife sold prime land in central Bangkok. Only problem it wasn't hers but govt property.

Hundreds of stories like that, and that is only what we know...

Problem is, the peasants love him and his party gets elected every time.

They are trying to pass an amnesty law taylored to allow him to come back to the country, without jail term and with all his frozen assets back...

Indeed - and if that wasn't bad enough...

They had to make the amnesty look like it wasn't just for him - that it was to cover protesters etc...

Had it been passed, it would have wiped out over 25,000 current corruption cases, 666 of which are against sitting MPs.

It would have also given those guilty of corruption since this government was formed a free pass - for cases that have not yet been discovered.

For peace apparently...
