Being accused & being convicted are two different things.  People accused George Zimmerman of murder.

This sign language idiot has probably been accused of assaulting cops, pregnant women, etc... He's being framed for everything, it's pretty commonplace.
 

All kidding aside 333386, seriously, I'm actually shocked they let this guy get so close to Obama without vetting him and knowing his background.  My guess would be, if you're once accused of any serious crime, they don't let you get within a city block of him, much less on stage.

Lucky for us he saw Angels in the stadium, and not Demons. It might have been a whole new conversation then.

Also, he was not a "fake" interpreter as people are calling him, just a very bad one it appears.
He has worked for the firm as an interpreter for a number of years, ...and yes, there has been an occasional complaint about his skills. I suppose that may be why he was paid $77 for the day rather than the going rate of $164/hr. Furthermore, interpreters are normally replaced every 20 minutes in order to clear their heads. He was left signing for a full 4 hours straight. That's gotta majorly tax the brain. In the case of a diagnosed schizophrenic, ...that's just a clear recipe for disaster waiting to happen. If the worst case scenario is that some people couldn't understand him, then lets just be grateful the outcome wasn't worse.
