I believe there are studies that show that the opposite happens watching cartoons, game shows and mindless TV shows. Read somewhere that watching the game show Jeopardy can cause depression after the majority realize they don't measure up to what they are witnessing...Pat Sajak once stated that he has to get drunk sometimes to get through a whole tapping of Wheel of Fortune because the show makes his stupid...And that he'd love to quit but the money he makes is just crazy...
