The TNA Wrestler that WWE Should Sign...
« on: January 15, 2014, 09:02:31 PM »
Bully Ray.

He's never had a singles run in the WWE. There's no heel on the roster with his mic skills.

He'd make a good opponent for any of the main faces: Cena, Bryan, Punk or even Batista.

Didn't he have a singles shot when he and Devon split for a while?

Devon did the preacher gimmick with "Deacon" Batista. I forget what Bubba did.

WWE opted not to resign him or Devon back in 2005.

They wanted out anyway to slowly wind down their careers.  They made good coin with TNA for a lot less travel.

If they cared for the smaller guys it would have had to be AJ, he is incredible even in his later years. Would also love to see Angle come home for 1 last run.

I'm amazed Angle is still going.

While AJ is a great performer, his mic skills are weak and he doesn't have that larger than life persona. Plus, WWE, already has two undersized top faces, Punk & Bryan. I just don't see him as a game changer.

If Styles could talk, he'd have so much more leverage and be so much more over. I'm still happy for him, though. He worked some shows for our Indy promotion around the time TNA was gaining exposure. Styles is a genuine, humble, and respectful guy. It was so refreshing to meet someone who was that talented and down to earth at the same time.

He's quoted his Christian fundamentals as a big reason for not going to the Fed with their sleaze, but that interview was during the Attitude Era; the sleaze has been toned down A LOT.

Another (bigger) reason I believe he's also cited is his concern over how McMahon would use him. This reluctance stems from Vince's perpetual tendency to bury former WCW talent. Honestly, at 54, maybe Sting's future in the industry won't be as big a concern since he's so close to the end of his storied career. Maybe he'll just say, "screw it," take the money, and go out with a bang.

Theyre in discussions - confirmed - so we'll see what Vince is willing to offer and Steve's willing to accept. Whatever it is, he would be able to retire handsomely on a Mania payout v Taker.

Some other possible opponents for Taker:

Brock
Batista
Punk
Cena

Is Sting, at this stage, a better draw than any of those?

Taker has beaten Batista & Punk already at Mania, tired of him wrestling the same guy moe than once as it is (Trip, HBK & Kane). Cena has no reason to be opposite him and is just an awful performer as it is and Brock should in no way continue laying down for guys. He would maul them, having him lose to Cena was horrific booking.

Sting would actually make sense, an outside force of legendary status that has never fought him, never been to the big show on the big stage and wants to test his own legend against theirs. Could draw, would certainly draw more than Cena etc.

IMO, the longer Sting waits (provided he wants to do it), the less leverage he will have. As mentioned above, his drawing power isn't getting any stronger. Personally, if they were to go in this direction, it is almost necessary to bring him into the Fed and build some groundwork story around him to get fans interested.

I would love to see them return Borden to the "Crow" gimmick he did around '98. No talking. Put him up in the rafters while making the occasional run-in to the ring to beat the shit out of some guys. Utilize the "smoke & mirrors" special effects. Meantime, Taker could be doing similar appearances. I think the competing styles would compliment each other nicely and make an interesting angle.

In the final weeks before Mania, have Taker in the ring one show delivering a promo with Sting attacking him after making some mystical appearance. The next show, have Taker return the attack on Sting. They could get very creative with the details of this, and the buildup and anticipation could really help carry the match for two workers past their prime - much as it did for the Hogan/Andre showdown at WMIII.

Has potential, but still a mid-card level wrestler.

Definitely putting his all into the character, and apparently, the company is high on him. IMO, the jury is still out on whether he can become a solid main eventer.

As an aside, the last promo I heard from him, he mentioned his father never being there for him. We might be seeing Mike Rotundo, soon .
