Thanks, RB -- That was a great read. Alec is definitely a getbigger at heart.
Seems like if you're a famous actor, you can't openly be one anymore, though.
Re: his opinion of Maddow, he was actually pretty complimentary of her work. He made a point, though, to say that he didn't think she was funny and, hell, he's right about that. (IMO, she's intelligent but not genuinely funny.)
When he wrote that he thought Rachel was a phony it seemed to be because he thought that she "doesn’t have the same passion for the truth off-camera that she seems to have on the air." What he was referring to was that she seems to have bought into the erroneous notion, now apparently accepted by many prominent gay folks in the media, that he's some sort of homophobic bigot without bothering to investigate the truth of the matter.
Ya know, I wouldn't doubt that Rachel, with the outwardly pleasant demeanor she always tries to project on camera, does not "get" a guy like Alec Baldwin even though their politics are very similar.
From how Alec describes himself, he seems a little like me, actually; Politically (as in which government policies he supports) he's a progressive liberal but on a personal level, if he feels it's warranted, he'll have no problem with confronting someone and cursing them to the dogs and back in a decidedly non-PC way and even gives the impression that he might take a poke at someone when he's really mad. My kind of guy, lol.
