Rice was a very smart person...Cheney was smart, a lot of experience but a very political creature. Rummy was a prick. Bush was a good person. I think he and Clinton were ok as far as that goes. I think Cheney and the rest took advantage of 9-11 to clear the board of all the douchbags and as usual things didn't work out as planned...zero plan to occupy Iraq correctly.

The big difference between the Middle East and Germany and Japan is that the ideology that drove J/G to war was completely discarded after the war.  This was not the case in the Middle East

Mccain is a little responsible... because he CHOSE palin while he was LEADING in the polls in summer of 2008.

He used his balls, and not his brains, to make a choice. He tried to appeal to the female hilary supporters, and chose someone that dems, moderates, AND many conservatives thought was a dangerous choice.

Within 2 weeks of Mccain choosing her (17 days to be exact, I think?), Obama had taken the lead in polls and didn't give it up.

If Mccain takes a safe choice like Thune - - then he doesn't suddenly drop so drastically - - and a liberal newbie like Obama doesn't win the election, and never gets a chance to enact his dangerous agenda.   Mccain handed it to obama... romney did too, in 2012.
