Look out Putin, Now You're in For It!

Canada will impose another round of economic sanctions and travel bans against an additional 17 Ukrainian and Russian officials.

Seriously?  As a Canadian, this is farcical at best.  Why are we even involved in this?  Fat boy Harper and his crew didn't object to the illegal coup to overthrow the legitimate Government in Ukraine, so why interject regarding Crimea.  Stay out of other countries affairs and stop sending our tax dollars overseas without our permission, just so you can play with NATO and feel important.  How about looking after our health care system, so people can stop dying in the waiting rooms after waiting for hours on end.  Maybe fix a few of our shitty roads and highways.  Or, save a few bucks instead of building your new billion dollar spy center in Ottawa.

Well in all honesty, we rarely have people dying in emergency rooms waiting for care. They usually die enroute in the ambulance or as a result of injuries too severe to be dealt with.

How much do you think these new sanctions had to do with Flaherty's resignation today?

I mean that was sooooo sudden. Quite out of character for Flaherty don't you think?

And what do you think of a possible Clement as Finance Minister?

If that's not a made man, I don't know what is. I remember when he first started his political career, fresh pimply face and all. They tried parachuting him into Bill Davis's old riding after Davis announced his resignation. They thought the riding was so Tory blue they could take a pimply faced 20 yr old kid and give him a seat in Ottawa. This is the same prick who defrauded Canadians of all those G20 millions to build a hockey arena in his riding 200 miles away from any G20 or G8 venue.

This is the same prick who bullied & cussed out a 12 year old on twitter for pointing out a spelling error.

This seriously makes me nostalgic for the Trudeau years. Pierre Elliot Trudeau would have probably told NATO where to go. Despite his staunch federalist stance, he probably would applauded Putin. This was after all the same man who invoked the War Measures Act, and rolled out tanks on the streets of Montreal. He, along with Chrétien at least had spine enough to stand up to the USA.

I thought he didn't even like Obama. What gives? I doubt Keystone XL is all that important to him. Pretty soon the USA won't be able to buy our oil. Better to simply cut a fair deal with the natives and build the pipeline to BC and let the Chinese have the oil. At least their money will be backed with something solid & tangible.

When I saw what was proposed as sanctions I honestly laughed out loud.

Sanctions to be imposed on Russian "officials" as opposed to "Russia".  ::)  How embarrassing!  :-[

Seriously, they would have been better off to simply say nothing. The moment they move against Russia,
Russia can tank their entire economy. We got Russia, India, China all aligned, all huge gold accumulating countries... They could light a match to all that paper... Oh what an inferno that would be! Let Iran decide to block the strait of Hormuz at the same time, Saudi decides it has had enough of the "perfidious" Americans,  Russia turns off the gas spigot to Europe, ...and it's all over for the west.... Unless you got yourself a solar powered vehicle, ...or perhaps could get control of Venezuelan oil reserves...things could get a little dicey. Ain't that interesting that the unrest and protest in Venezuela started up right about the same time the West lost control of the uprising in the Ukraine? Wow, what interesting timing huh?
