It's what we do bro. Nothin' glamorous about it, but it's fulfilling.
I could post pics of my Bikini Competitors that did the Fresno and the Sacto Governors cup, or the ones getting ready for the Contra Costa, but that ain't what it's all about.
This is really what we do.
Rehabilitation, counseling, building self-esteem, psychology, training the clinically and morbidly obese, the convalescents... on and on it goes.
It's a job, it's a living and along with that data entry, front desk, management, mediating between all the female fitness instructors...
NOT GLAMOROUS!
I took the Ceres Acro-Gymanstics team to the Beijing Olympics, the U.S.A. swim team to the Far Western 10 best cutoffs... and then I work in a convalescent home with people who can barely move, stroke victims, heart attack victims... on and on and on.
Everybody wants to be a personal trainer. At least once a week a young kid comes in asking how hard it is to get certified.
WTF does this shit have to do with a cert?
All I did with this woman was prove to her that her doctor was wrong and that it was alright for her to believe in herself. He said she couldn't plank. I was like 'Fuck that, lets stand on a Bosu ball" ~ I don't have any use for them anyway. They annoy me for the most part.
Now she is on a running team in the Bay area with hundreds of other Parapalegics. I got an offer to train the whole team. Too far away and I can't drop what I'm doing at my gym. Oh well.
