Not sure if I'm a slowpoke.jpg on this front, but it surprised me that the given amount can result in such increase in metabolic rate.

Now, I can understand that energy will be needed in order to heat the temperature of the ingested water, but it still won't add up to the significant increase they mention. Although, it is also mentioned that more studies needs to be performed in order to confirm the claims in the study.

Some more articles related to thermogenesis, which in my opinion, boosts some parts of the validity of the claims in the study:
Water drinking induces thermogenesis through osmosensitive mechanisms
Water-induced thermogenesis.
Water-induced thermogenesis reconsidered : The effects of osmolality and water temperature on energy expenditure after drinking

Thoughts on this matter?
How much water do you ingest yourself throughout the day? I'm usually around 2 litres spread evenly throughout the day and another 2 litres during cardio/weight training.
