Every so often a thread pops up about male pattern baldness. This isn't surprising since the condition occurs fairly often. Here are some statistics:

I was one of those who began balding towards the end of puberty. I've had many years to accept my hair loss....or go crazy. Fortunately, my head has a decent shape. I chose early on to simply buzz cut the rest off to match. Over the years, I have saved tens of thousands of dollars in haircuts.

I am 22 now, soon to be 23.

Although I started getting widow's peaks as early as 16, I didn't accept the fact that I was going bald until I was about your age. Once you accept it, it gets easier. My first buzz cut was when I was 22 years old. That fateful morning I went to work wearing bangs as usual to hide the hairloss. A rude coworker told me I was wearing my hair like a girl. At lunch I went to the barbershop and had it all cut off. It was a dramatic change. My wife who was having lunch with some friends didn't recognize me when I crossed the street right in front of her.

I have 3 options:

1) Fight it.
2) Get bald and be skinny natural, shave rest, look like a dog shit. (I have Hitler nose, sticking out of my face)
3) Shave it, roid up, completely change my look.

It would be less hassle and probably less expensive to have rhinoplasty then it's going to be fight hair loss. You'll only look like dog shit if you believe you do. Confidence is what attracts women. Nothing reeks insecurity more than a toupee or a comb over.

i've been taking propecia for about a dozen years now.  i had, and still have, a good head of hair.  i just started taking propecia when i noticed my hairline was receding a bit (around age 30) and i wanted to halt that. and that's exactly what propecia has done.  my hair has remained as solid as it was a dozen years ago.  i haven't experienced any negative sides other than perhaps a reduced libido for a couple of hours after i pop the tab ... so i always take the tab when i'm leaving the house each morning and heading to the office so that my sex life isn't affected at all (since i ain't banging my secretary.)

Its called Penester here, 90 pills each containing 5mg of fina. Gonna cut them. Price 5 dollars, rest is paid by insurance.

What side effects did you experience?

I am 100% natural, no roids, nothing. Should I use anti-estrogen too?

decreased strength, mass and sex drive.  Didn't notice the difference until I came off though.  Felt especially stupid because minoxidil alone has been basically as effective at preventing hair loss.  If you value your gains I would steer clear.

+1. The easier you accept it, the better it's going to be for you. Balding simply doesn't have the same stigma in society as it used to. Get a nose job and stay in shape rather than waste your money preventing further hair loss. If your concerned about it at your age, your only delaying the inevitable.
