Check the vid of Frank Medrano...he is not just doing bar work...
And your hyperbolic claims of mediocrity would be dismissed.
These guys are not gymnasts, nor claim to be.
There was an article posted a few months back from a bodybuilder who was in prison...he Didnt start lifting until he went to prison, he said that the guys who keep their physiques the most, once outside and then get locked up again, are the bar men
If you ask around, it seems that is the general, although anecdotal, concensus.
So, one could incorporate calisthenics and weight training and possibly have a physique that is not only functional, but will last longer through lapses in physical activity.
